Surface Coatings
Silicone coatings are often described as the coatings of the future, thanks to their resource efficiency and lower environmental impact compared to many other coating types. In the bakery industry, silicone is outstanding when it comes to durable, flexible non-stick surfaces.
In other sectors, silicone-based surface treatments are appreciated for their ability to improve durability, heat resistance, corrosion protection, and resistance to UV and chemicals.

Silicone coatings (also known as silicone or silicone resin) are the dominant coating type in the bakery industry today. They are also suitable in applications where a quiet, flexible coating is required, offering chemical resistance and corrosion protection. Traditionally, silicone is recognised for its weather resistance, making it well-suited for humid or liquid-exposed environments.
A key factor behind silicone’s popularity is its flexibility. It easily withstands expansion and contraction, allowing it to be applied to thin or flexible components. Aluminium trays and moulds are typical examples. Certain silicone formulations are better suited for sweet doughs, while others perform best with bread products. Similar nuances exist in other industries as well, so feel free to contact us for a solution tailored to your specific application and production needs.
Silicone coatings are fluorine-free and based on organic polymers. Compared to many other coating systems, silicone requires less energy during production of the coating formulation, and because it cures at lower temperatures, the application process itself consumes less energy.
The lower curing temperature also makes it possible to coat materials that cannot withstand other coating processes. Another environmental advantage is that silicone-coated components can be recoated when the surface becomes worn — significantly extending the service life of your equipment.

At Bakers Coating, we primarily work with red, grey and blue silicone for flexible non-stick coatings and anti-corrosion surface treatments.
SilcoPro is one of our most widely used silicone coatings. It is spray-applied in a single layer and is typically used on aluminium or steel surfaces.
The coating is well-suited for all types of baking applications, and its exceptional non-stick properties make it ideal even for sweet doughs. Its high gloss and chemical resistance also make it an excellent choice for professional bakery operations.
We can also supply the coating in customised colours to match your specific requirements.
Technical Properties
The leading coating within the bakery industry, offering very high non-stick performance, especially for unsweetened bread products. Trays and moulds coated with red silicone can be easily recoated when the surface becomes worn.
This grey silicone resin is an all-round coating suitable for both baking moulds and trays. The surface offers good resistance to fats and can be greased when needed.
Our blue silicone is an all-round coating that performs especially well for sweet doughs and confectionery products.
