At Bakers Coating, we primarily develop corrosion protection using high-performance materials like Halar (ECTFE), Rilsan (PA11), and Ruby Red.

Halar® is a brand name for Ethylenechlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE), a thermoplastic widely used for metal corrosion protection. This powdered coating melts during curing to form a robust, protective surface layer that is both hydrophobic and oleophobic, and exhibits low friction.
The resulting dense layer provides exceptional resistance to chemical exposure and mechanical wear. This allows for the use of more cost-effective materials with a Halar coating, serving as a viable alternative to materials like Hastelloy® or super duplex.
The coating effectively withstands strong acids, alkalis, salt solutions, alcohols, chlorine, and most solvents. Halar® is also highly shock and impact resistant, and can be applied in thicknesses up to 2 mm.

Despite its name, Rilsan® is a polyamide-based thermoplastic recognized as an environmentally friendly coating. It's fully recyclable, non-toxic, and produced from vegetable matter, specifically oil derived from castor bean seeds. Beyond its environmental benefits, Rilsan's core strengths include its exceptional durability and high abrasion resistance. The Rilsan coating is also impact-resistant, making it particularly well-suited for CIP (Clean-in-Place) environments with high moisture exposure, such as dishwasher baskets.
Ruby Red is a high-build PFA powder designed to enhance both the permeability resistance and chemical resistance of treated applications. It's a top choice in the chemical industry due to its excellent tolerance for corrosive substances. Ruby Red also offers good abrasion resistance and thermal stability, ensuring its properties remain consistent in both vapor and liquid phases.
