Corrosion Protection for Offshore Applications
Xylan is available in a wide range of formulations to optimize specific performance characteristics.
For offshore use, surface coatings are often combined with zinc phosphating of the substrate. This significantly enhances coating adhesion while also providing a much higher level of corrosion resistance.
In harsh environments where coated surfaces are subject to heavy mechanical wear, zinc phosphating plays a critical role in preventing crevice corrosion—especially when the top layer is damaged and the underlying metal is exposed.
